What is Bikram yoga?
  • Bikram yoga is a fixed sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises

  • It’s practised in a heated room which is 40°C

Is Bikram yoga suitable for beginners?
  • Yes, Bikram yoga is designed for all levels, including complete beginners

  • You’re encouraged to work at your own pace and rest when needed

  • The instructor guides you through every posture
     

Do I need to be flexible to start?
  • No, flexibility is not required

  • Flexibility develops naturally with regular practice

  • Strength, balance and focus improve alongside flexibility
     

What should I bring to my first class?
  • A yoga mat

  • A large towel for your mat

  • Water bottle

  • Comfortable, breathable activewear
     

What should I eat before class?
  • Avoid heavy meals 2–3 hours before class

  • A light snack is fine if needed

  • Stay well hydrated throughout the day
     

What if I feel dizzy or overwhelmed?

  • Sit or lie down whenever you need

  • This is very normal for first timers

  • Focus on breathing and listen to your body

  • Over time, your tolerance to the heat will improve
     

Can I leave the room if it’s too much?
  • We recommend you stay in the room, just sit down, and take a break and re-join when you feel ready

  • With consistency, your mind learns to master the heat


How often should I practise as a beginner?

  • 2–3 classes per week is a great starting point

  • Consistency matters more than intensity

  • Even one class per week will deliver benefits
